 Just like the sun protection we use on our bodies, the Sun- screen shades come in many thicknesses, colours and styles. The product is also available as roller shades, Roman shades, flat or waterfall style, sliding panel tracks and vertical blinds.
The first task we have is to decide whether it is indeed the right treatment for our specific needs, how much sunlight do we get and how much of it do we want to block. What is our need for privacy? (Sun-screen shades give you full privacy during the day, however, at night, if it is dark outside and bright inside, we will be in a fish bowl), and how large are the windows, how easy or difficult would it be to operate. It is a good idea to give us a call & talk about your needs, and then determine what the proper application should be. It could be installed on its own or together with decorative window treatments over it. Although very popular in commercial establishments, we have installed countless number of these shades in private residence. Also Motorized Solar Screen Shades
Solar Screen builds affordable motorized shade systems for both residential and commercial use. Our 12 and 24 volt powered window coverings are considered low voltage because they use only 9% of house power. Motors and wires are small, efficient and compact not requiring heavy insulation or hard wiring.
No electrician is needed. Simply plug in the transformer. The transformer plugs into the 110 wall outlet converting the house power. Low voltage wires lead to a small switch and then to the shade motor. These lightly insulated wires are thin and flexible and ideal for surface mounting. The white or brown wire blends into most backgrounds or it can be painted, once in place, for an exact match.
The tubular motor fits inside the roller, driving the gears and providing a smooth flow of power to the shade roller. The shade easily changes direction when commanded by the switch. Solar -Screen's power booster increases motor power by 40%, reducing the strain on the motor and gears thus increasing their service life. Limit switches control the roller movement and stop the shade from rolling too far in both directions.
